You will learn to maximize your mindset, messaging and strategy and step into the uncommonly successful business.

And life you are creating here's your host, top ranked business coach and reformed overanalyzer turned queen of clarity, Jenna Harrison.

Welcome, welcome back to the uncommon way. Today, we're talking about raising your energetic set point for income. And allowing in more abundance without needing to [00:01:00] burn yourself out. If you found yourself in a pattern of thinking, well, if I want to earn twice as much as I am now, I'm going to have to do twice as much.

Then this episode will really be a mind bender. Just so we're all on the same page, the energetic baseline or set point that I'm referring to, it's just the amount of income or wealth that you typically have and the level that you seem to stay at, right? And return to over and over. What I'd like to help you decode is how to raise that level.

So you have a new baseline. A higher baseline that soon you probably won't even think much about because it will become the status quo. Now, as always, I'll be giving you one tactical tip, one mindset tip, and one energetic tip. So you can start putting this into motion today. And in addition, in today's episode, you're going to uncover why your current [00:02:00] income level might feel like a frustrating set point that you can't seem to move beyond.

And you'll discover a new strategy for growing your revenue that doesn't involve burnout, hustle, or stress. Plus, you'll get a surprising mindset shift that will make more. and sustainable. Okay. So good. The other day I was announcing a workshop that I was going to be doing in the Clarity Accelerator called SEO Magic, which by the way, I will be giving publicly in November.

So get on my list now, if you want to be part of that, but I was also asking what other trainings they'd be interested in. And somebody asked me to do a training on how I've created an energetic baseline for myself. She knows that I'm at a quarter of a million dollars in revenue yearly, and she'd heard me talk about energetic baselines of [00:03:00] income.

And so she wanted to know how I'd done that. And I figured it'd make a great podcast episode. So of course, if you are a client, after you listen to this, then come bring any questions that arise into our chat group or to a call. And we can expand on it and apply it to your specific circumstances, right?

And then, and then we'll create the roadmap for what you're going to do specifically to raise yours. If of course that goal makes sense for you right now. We can think about energetic baselines in many ways, but when it comes to income, we're usually either talking about a revenue number or a wealth number.

So you can choose what you want to focus on today. But first, how do you know what your economic baseline is? You simply observed, like, what tends to be true for you? How much do you tend to bring in monthly or yearly? How much do you tend to have in the bank and [00:04:00] assets, minus debt, of course? That shows you your income baseline or wealth baseline, respectively.

Now, I've known many people with high income baselines. Doctors and attorneys who bring in a lot of cash each month with low wealth baselines because they're perpetually in debt and living paycheck to paycheck. Now compare that to some working class people I know who have very low income baselines, but surprising wealth baselines.

So think about this for yourself and think about if there's a temporary windfall or setback, is there a level that you tend to return to when we're going about our daily lives? It seems like the baseline is just what it is, but actually we're doing a lot to keep ourselves right. There, just write exactly what we know and therefore are comfortable with.

When I was a single girl living my corporate life, I was one [00:05:00] of those people earning well, but living hand to mouth. It seemed like no matter what I did, I never got ahead. Now, in retrospect, I can see how much I contributed to that. I owned a studio in the East village, but then I lost all of that equity when I entered into an abusive relationship and I accrued tons of debt and it forced me to sell that apartment in order to pay it off.

But on the other hand, even in the depths of all of that instability and low self esteem, I remember applying for a job and I got And offer for that job with a particular salary. And even then I responded to them and said that I knew I would not be comfortable working for that. And so I would need to decline.

Now they ended up coming back and offering me the salary that I was asking for, but it just shows that. There was a lot that went into that, that had me taking those [00:06:00] actions. If I had been at a different baseline, then I probably would have looked for and or accepted a much lower paying job. But then swinging back to the other side, there were lots of spending decisions.

Even after I lost the loser boyfriend, lots of like blowing through cash. Lots of me telling myself, but I deserve it. And then the way I deserved it was by spending money on meaningless things that weren't really contributing to my dreams. But I can also see some ways where I did not directly contribute.

And this is where I think it really speaks to the energetic imprint of really repelling or attracting. So I contributed diligently to my IRA. I always matched with my employer when possible, and yet it never really seemed to grow very much. When Ben and I married and we are the same age, he had much more than [00:07:00] me.

Obviously it was better invested, but still energetically, I wasn't accruing lots of wealth. And by the way, at this time, my parents had hardly any savings either. Very often our baselines are similar to those of our family of origin and or to the people surrounding us. But anyway, when you have a lower baseline, It won't even occur to you to go after certain jobs or request a certain salary or make that move in your business when you do try to create wealth through entrepreneurship, you're likely under earning in just the same way as if you accepted a lower salary, but when you have a higher baseline, you'll find it easier to do the things you know, many people who transition from higher paying jobs into having their own business.

Mhm. Are able to return to similar levels of income much more easily because of their baseline [00:08:00] than their counterparts are, who maybe were social workers before they started their business now, without a doubt, for some of us, it's going to be more challenging to raise our baseline than for others. For instance, if you're a person of color living in the United States and you come from a poor family, then chances are, then instead of your income going to support you or your nuclear family, it's being used to help a broader range of family members.

You may have less access to credit, fewer job opportunities, you may have taken on a greater level of school debt, and especially your identity is likely tied up in being a have not rather than a have. Again, a naturally much steeper and bigger hill to climb, but these tips and tactics, they apply to you too.

So let's get down to what I have for you today. The process of [00:09:00] raising your energetic baseline is really like stretching or building a muscle. You need to acclimate to a different status and that has to become your new normal in a way that it flows through all of your decisions and actions. And the opportunities you see and the things that you choose to take advantage of.

And yes, through your energetic vibration too. Now that's a concept I totally would have rejected years ago, but, um, I'm going to link to an episode called how entrepreneurship made me woo if you want to hear about that journey. But let me give you an example of how this works. It's not with money, but with.

Weight loss, so I have a client that struggled with her weight, but through all of the work She's been doing and the reinvention specifically that she's been doing we were on a call the other day And she said you know I actually Now know that I am meant to be [00:10:00] healthy. I know that I'm meant to weigh less.

And this is just part of my purpose. And the work I'm doing in the world is to have those levels of energy is to feel that way in my body. So there are money baselines, like we've been talking about, but there are also weight. Baselines. And again, her being able to see it so clearly and feel so certain about it and feel that shift is because, uh, she has done the work and now as her beliefs change, then her actions are changing.

The way she talks to herself is changing. The decisions that she makes are changing. Your current set point always reflects your current beliefs. As you move into new territory, your brain is going to throw up all sorts of conscious and subconscious resistance because it is doing its job. That's [00:11:00] completely natural.

It's keeping you safe in exactly what has worked to keep you alive up until now. So that resistance might look like you consciously deciding you don't want a bigger business because having a bigger business is going to change you. And you really just want to match what you were making in corporate, or it could be subconsciously when you conveniently get so busy with a client or three that you, whoops, never did pitch that head of industry or launch that podcast or whatever it was.

My tactical tip for you today, therefore, is desensitization. You need to like, write that on your forehead, because Remember, your brain reacts to new. That's what creates the conscious and subconscious resistance are the new things, the scary things, the things that aren't normal. [00:12:00] Desensitization is the process of making what is new seem normal.

Like when we were in Pennsylvania, there was this bridge that we had to cross over whenever I walked my dog and it crossed, uh, at this really pretty stream with a bunch of rocks and it was a tiny little waterfall and the bridge was not, it was a see through, right? You could actually see through it.

There were like holes that you were walking over and this used to scare my dog so much. Poor thing. So, what did I do? Did I just find a different route so that she'd never have to experience that? No, quite the opposite. I worked on desensitizing her to it, slowly and surely, with lots and lots of little treats, of course, so that the process was enjoyable, until we got to the point where it was no big deal for her and she would just cross the bridge as if nothing.

When I was increasing my baseline to its current level, which I have now maintained [00:13:00] for a few years, I put a post in my makeup drawer where I would make sure to see it each day. And it just said 250, 000 is normal. Now notice I did not say a quarter of a million dollars because that to my brain at that time would have seemed like a lot of money.

It would have somehow been scarier than just seeing, like, digits and commas. But over time of not only seeing this, but actually thinking about it, integrating it, it got to feel natural and safe. And it needs to be, otherwise you will never maintain That level. So I purposely chose language and a way of thinking about it that was really accessible to me.

Now, one of the easiest and most effective ways to make things really accessible and natural for you is to get into a group of people who [00:14:00] are earning more than you and or who are all very certain about their earning potential. And the ability to increase these baselines, their thoughts and their ways of being will become like second nature to you.

This is a wonderful evolutionary tendency of the brain that we can use as a hat for ourselves. But don't stop there. I challenge you to get really creative about what you can be doing to desensitize yourself. You know, what will that future self be doing that you can normalize now and kind of grease the wheels for yourself?

This does not mean that you blow the bank and run yourself into tons of debt necessarily. Although that might be a strategic choice you make for whatever reason, but it could be something like, uh, one of my earliest clients wanted to take his family to Portugal for a sabbatical, but [00:15:00] really couldn't quite give up the identity of being a top performer in a tech company.

So one of the things that we had him start doing was to just come home and listen to Portuguese music while drinking a glass of Portuguese wine and kind of sitting up on a balcony and looking out over scenery. It was just a daily simple thing he could do to acclimate himself to this future that he wanted to create.

Maybe yours looks more like going into a high end store. Or something, and when you do that, of course, you don't want to go in looking at all the price tags and making judgments about them and lamenting that you can't buy the things because no, that is going to be totally counterproductive and to keep you where you are even longer.

You want to just. Walk around and be in that energy and keep reminding yourself that this is normal. This is safe. Nothing has gone wrong [00:16:00] here. Maybe in the future, you see yourself being able to, I don't know, buy a surprise gift for your son or something, and in your mind, you're imagining that as something.

Expensive and luxurious, but in the practice of today now, what can you be buying that gives you that same feeling, right? That can help you remind yourself of this future to come, telling yourself that it's safe. Like when I had my last client retreat. I specifically chose to take them to a really amazing hotel, overseas hotel, that was all inclusive so that they could not only be in beautiful surroundings with top notch service, but that they would get used to just whatever they wanted.

They just pick up the phone and ask for it, right? And it is theirs. Now, I'm sure there were a couple of them when they were looking at this international [00:17:00] flight and the price tag of the hotel that were thinking, Can't we just do something cheap in the States, maybe at a Marriott, but no, absolutely not.

Our theme for this retreat was creating quantum leaps, which you can hear more about in the last episode that I, that I just did, but there was no way that we could talk about creating quantum leaps without also talking about these, this income raising that we would need to do and starting the desensitization process.

Now, so, the good news is that desensitizing works, but the bad news is that because it works, when you get there, you're probably not going to be like, woohoo, I'm rich! This feels amazing! You'll literally be like, this does not feel like I anticipated. It actually feels very normal. Unexpected. Okay, here's what I've got for your mindset [00:18:00] tip.

You've got to understand your current baseline, use it to gather needed data, and then do the work to break through that metaphorical glass ceiling that's there for you right now. We hear about a glass ceiling for women, but so much of what I do is helping women break through their own glass ceiling, the internal glass ceiling.

Unless you do that, you're never going to truly live your uncommon way because that requires unbinding from everything that's getting in the way of your true desires, your true intention, your true potential. So let's use this time together right now to start the process. Are you ready? I'm going to give you some prompts and I want you to think about them.

Who are the people that really deserve money? What are they like? What have they done? What's the story of how they acquired their ridges? [00:19:00] What did they do to get there? Now, remember, these are the ones that really deserve it. And you can pause this if you want to, if you want to journal or you just want to walk and reflect on it, and then come back to me.

Hey! If you want true clarity about your secret sauce, your people, your best way of doing business and how you talk about your offer, then I invite you to join us in the Clarity Accelerator. I'll teach you to connect all the dots, the dots that have always been there for you so that you can show up like you were born for exactly this.

Come join us and supercharge every other tool or tactic you'll ever learn from Facebook ads to manifestation Just go to the uncommon way comm slash schedule and set up a time to talk. I can't wait to be your coach All right, whatever you have come up with just now then that my [00:20:00] friend is what you Currently will need to do or what you'll need to be in order to have money In order to have this new baseline that you want, because you probably, you're not going to let yourself have it if you don't deserve it.

Maybe you'll have to work hard, or you'll have to be totally honest and in integrity, or you'll have to always put others first. I suggest, after you've gathered that data about your brain, that you question all of those. Not in the sense that you should be lazy or dishonest or self centered, but you should think about how that manifests in your actions.

Are you creating more work for yourself? Maybe probably unnecessarily. Are you so consumed with speaking with integrity that you actually hold back on talking about what's [00:21:00] possible with your offer? Just in case one person doesn't get those results. Do you want to be so fair to everyone else that you are undervaluing your time and expertise?

Do you give, give, give to serve others until you're totally depleted and sometimes resentful? Been there. The good news is that if you change those beliefs, you don't have to do all of those things. So it's going to be much easier to establish the new baseline. Your baseline reflects your current beliefs, not what you wished you believed, not what you think you should believe, but what you truly deep down think and believe.

They show what you think is acceptable and normal and safe and expected. And it always reflects your deepest core beliefs. So if on the one hand, You believe that you should be earning lots of money because you've been in [00:22:00] business for five years now dammit and people who've been in business for five years earn X amount.

But then you have a deeper belief that if you earn a lot of money, you'll become totally out of touch with the world and the people around you and possibly become really greedy and entitled and corrupt. Then guess which belief is going to win out. Yes, so you need to shift your way of thinking so that the number you want your baseline to be aligns perfectly with what you really think is acceptable and normal and safe and expected.

This is the work that I've had to do and that my clients do each time they move into a new income bracket and are able to sustain those wins. Now, sometimes when we're trying to raise the baseline, we're like, uh, why isn't it happening? I'm saying affirmations out the hoo ha. I'm doing all the tactical things Jenna told me to do.

It's not [00:23:00] working. It's probably because of belief. Do you really believe that you can break in that level of income right now or in the time frame you've decided and maintain it? Not in some imaginary five year timeline, but immediately. And. Not just people in general, but you, you personally. This is why, these are the reasons why, in the Clarity Accelerator, we don't just talk tactics and strategy and analysis and skill building, and we don't just talk about energetics and manifestations and stepping into your fuller purpose.

We cover those, and we clean up the mind. Imagine you had a garden with beautiful plants, but then weeds start growing there too, until the point that they are hogging the soil, and they are blocking the light, and the original plants start to wither. [00:24:00] Those plants are your truth, and the weeds are the baggage and traumas and unhelpful conditioning you pick up over time.

You've got to tend that garden if you truly want to reap the benefits and gobble up all that juicy fruit that is what the plants naturally produce. They don't even have to try. If they are left unencumbered. All right, let's move on to energetics now, shall we? I've said that your baseline aligns with your beliefs.

Well, the byproduct of belief is certainty. When you believe something to be true, it feels certain. Now, it might seem like I'm splitting hairs here, but energetics is so much about nuance. So trust me, this is a very important distinction. If you really believe that you were going to bring in that level of income right now, or in the timeframe you've decided, and then it [00:25:00] was totally safe for you to do so, you know, it wasn't going to mess up your life in any way, and it would all be super joyous and uncomplicated, or at least low enough complications that you are perfectly happy to deal with them.

And maybe if your future self had come back and said, look, this is like a crystal ball. I can show you, you are definitely going to be reaching this new energetic baseline in the next six months. Then what would you be doing? You'd probably be just doing whatever final things need to get done to create that reality.

You'd just be going for it, full hilt. You're pitching that person, or you're speaking and writing with that person. New conviction and ease, and you're listening to your intuition for inspired action because you know you are so tapped in. Remember, revelations precede results. You feel certain, [00:26:00] not because the results came to you already.

You feel certain, and then the results come, and when you're feeling certain, you're taking action. The action thing is something that people get really wrong about energetics. They think that manifestation is separate from action, but it's not really. It's not that any specific action is required for manifestation.

There are probably plenty of rich people who have never even heard of an affirmation, but both of the two things, action and manifestation are natural byproducts of certainty. They're just what naturally happens when you have cleared away the weeds. So, while it might seem surprising for me to be talking in the energetics portion of this episode about action, to me, it actually makes perfect sense.[00:27:00]

And I want to encourage you to take a cool, hard look at your current actions. What do they tell you? What does the type of action and the quality of those actions display when your belief is low, that you are capable or ready for that next level of success, or your belief is low, that those that you desire to work with will want to work with you, or you deep down think that the universe can't be trusted, or, or, Whatever else is coming up to block the rightness of you living happily in your next baseline, then you're not going to be taking bold action in the direction of your dreams.

That awareness of that fact might not be available to you consciously. The fact that you don't fully believe, but the frequency you're putting out doesn't lie. The universe, it's the universe is like the mom who catches you at something and you're like, how did you [00:28:00] know that? And she's like, ah, I have eyes in the back of my head.

So consciously, what you might notice is that you're spending lots of time thinking about the color scheme of your rebrand, or you're sticking your foot in your mouth during sales conversations, or you're just desperately throwing out any and every kind of action, even if they feel totally unaligned.

All the time. Often what's going on is that you are not seeing the baseline materialize, and so you are feeling overwhelmed and disappointed, but look overwhelmed and disappointed. They're just emotion you feel when you're asking for more, then you're able to let in. Otherwise when things are moving along in flow, it just feels like the one next thing and then the next thing and things are just happening.

So typically we try to alleviate those uncomfortable emotions with [00:29:00] lots of doing this, right? We're either overthinking or overworking, but it's definitely not the aligned action that I was talking about earlier. It is compensatory busyness. But there's not enough action in the world to compensate when there's a misalignment between what you're asking for and what you are allowing.

Abraham Hicks has this metaphor of moving a vacuum around the room, but the vacuum is not actually plugged in. And they say, but all the marks are on the carpet. Look, but of course it's ineffective. It doesn't actually create change. So very simply, the next time you're working, I want you to pause, take a deep breath, and then tune into the vibration underlying the action that you are taking at that moment.

Does it feel grounded and calm and powerful? Or is there a slightly frenetic or desperate or even [00:30:00] annoyed or frustrated quality to it? Please believe me when I say there is no shame about whatever comes up for you. I know what it is to feel so sad and disappointed that it feels like grief in your body.

It is grief when your expectations are met with a very different reality. And I know what it is to have a brain that feels so tired from spinning in, in second guessing or problem solving something that seems unsolvable until it is a literally exhausted you. But for some reason you still can't sleep because you're also all spun up.

I mean, I'm the girl who fell on the floor and had a tantrum because I set a goal for 100 members in my Facebook group, and I only got 99. And it just confirmed all of my worst fears about whether success was truly [00:31:00] possible for me. I can see now that I was in a very, very like dysregulated nervous system, sleep deprived.

But that was a true story that did happen. It did feel very, very real at the moment. But I also know that just because it seems hard at times, It is totally within your reach to have a business that makes you want to pinch yourself. It's so good where you hear others talk about standard conversion rates from cold traffic and you're like, wait, huh?

Mine are way higher than that. What is going on here? And where people are asking you how you do it. How did you. Create that and where the actions you take, they do, they have such powerful leverage that it all seems almost too easy, except that you totally get it because [00:32:00] of course, this makes total sense and where you feel safety and trust and calm and held the majority of the time.

But also totally badass and self sufficient at the same time because you're such a powerful creator. All of this is your birthright. This is meant for you and available to you. The universe knows all of that. It's just wondering if you know all of that too. All right, my friend, if you want help increasing your energetic baseline faster, better, and easier, then click the link in the show notes to book a free call with me.

Like right now, your thumb is so close up a wonderful week and I'll look forward to talking to you next week.[00:33:00]
