Here's your host, top ranked business coach and reformed over analyzer turned queen of clarity, Jenna Harrison. Welcome. Welcome back to the uncommon way. Today, we're talking about an absolutely proven method for growing your business. Whether[00:01:00]

you are just starting out. Or beyond seven figures, as always, I'll give you the tactical how to, but also the mindset and energetic perspectives that will be like a lightning fuel for the effectiveness of what I'm sharing. And more specifically in this episode, you will walk away with a specific step by step that works for all entrepreneurs, regardless of where they are.

You'll discover the one single thing that's keeping your business from feeling as easy and natural as breathing, and you'll unlock the secret to achieving results faster through aligning your energy with your goals. Or vice versa. But first, a quick announcement. I have some really fun surprises on the way.

Some new offers, including some very accessible price points that I have never offered before. I've told you that while I've been moving in these last months and working [00:02:00] less, the ideas have been really percolating and brewing. Well, now it's time to bring them to fruition. We're going to release a bunch of them during the week of Black Friday.

So if you want to get in on those, you need to sign up for the wait list at theuncommonway. com forward slash Black Friday. That's one word. And kind of along those lines, because we realized that Black Friday would be the perfect time to release, we're postponing the SEO magic workshop that I talked about before.

But don't worry, it's still on the way. And just make sure you're on my list to be in the know about the timing of that. Probably December. And another quick PSA. Never try to source a birthday cake in Mallorca that's just plain vanilla cake and plain vanilla frosting. Dylan was very adamant. He did not want chocolate.

He did not want carrot cake. And there are three others that I guess are very typical in, in Spain. And [00:03:00] that's what all of the places were offering. And so we finally had to pay 120 euros. Yes. Believe it or not. That's like 130. In order to get this, this cake made for his birthday, of course, it by then was like close to the last minute.

And I just, I had to be like, okay, whatever, fine. But if you ever want to start a business in Mallorca, then a cake business would be a great one. But actually, it's all good. We are actually It's really settling into life here now, and just like feeling that routine and that rhythm that we were really longing for back in August, maybe, and it just feels very deeply fulfilling to have accomplished this goal and made it here, which I've been dreaming about for so long.

So now let's shift [00:04:00] gears and talk about getting you into the dream of what you've been waiting for. Um, whatever that might be for you at this moment in your business, maybe you do want to become a digital nomad. Maybe you want to just sign your first client. Maybe you want to work less and really like release control to your team and stop doing all the heavy lifting yourself.

What we're going to talk about today is circumstance agnostic. It does not matter what's going on. Just works. Now, I have to admit there was a little bit of clickbait in the hook, right? When we opened the podcast and it is true, it's one simple thing, but it has nothing to do with what you might've been thinking about, like a specific funnel or this specific tactic.

And I used this way of framing it. Though, [00:05:00] to really capture your attention because this is what everyone wants as a business coach. I know it. I talk to women about it all the time. Everyone's looking for one magic pill and you know, I am right there with you, right? Like I've talked before about how much money and time I spent chasing so many different things.

Even when I had a coach who was kind of telling me what I needed to be doing, I was investing in all these other coaches and courses and methods, right? Determined to find the one that would finally have me skyrocketing forward. But the thing that actually works, other than, of course, Like, good skill sets, and great mindset, and great energetic alignment, but the simple thing that I'm about to share is the one, like, step by step thing that just, rinse and repeat, always works.

And we're [00:06:00] going to lead into it by diving into the mindset portion first. So deep down, we all want to be the phenom, as in phenomenon, like a true phenomenon, right? The example that first came to mind when I was thinking about how to talk about all of this with you is like the great American novelist, Now, for those of you who are outside the U.

S. and not familiar with this term, it's an archetype where the artist works diligently in solitude, right? Often unrecognized or underestimated. Maybe this person's your local barista. Or something, but at night they're working on writing this novel, the great American novel. And it's like this masterpiece finally gets sent to an editor and the editor is like, Oh my God, where has this been my whole career?

This is it. This is going to be the [00:07:00] breakthrough. And then it goes on to win just all of this critical acclaim and, of course, great riches. And it goes down in the canon as like the quintessential American novel. It's sort of like a J. K. Rowling story, right? Where from obscurity, we just burst forth. Or a slightly different version of the phenom is just the super high performer, right?

The person who just like blows it out of the park. I had a very young client who was really determined, like she had to hit certain revenue goals by a certain age. It was maybe like 23 or 25 or something. Definitely before 30 because once she'd passed 30, like that wouldn't be a big deal anymore. Anyone at 30 can have a business, but if she were a 23 year old that accomplished all this, like, wow, that would really [00:08:00] be something.

She'd really be on the magazines. And I get it. I was exactly the same way, but I'm just sharing these different examples so you can feel into it, right? And ground into like, that is what we want. We want to step out of the shadows, and suddenly everyone's like, Oh, this coach is amazing. Where has she been?

Or I've never read a blog like this before, or I've never read an article like this before, or I've never seen a natural born leader like this. How did she hit seven figures in her first year? She phenom. What a brain for business, but it backfires. When our expectations don't immediately match our reality.

And it kicks up all of this mind drama about the discrepancy between what we wanted and what we're actually seeing. And maybe you [00:09:00] start thinking, well, maybe I'm not meant to be a coach. Of course, it's not just coaches, right? That was just an example. Any kind of business owner, business provider, maybe I'm not meant to be an entrepreneur or.

They hate me, I suck, I'm not cut out for this. What am I doing wrong? Why can't I get it? And then you get this shrinking feeling and suddenly the actions you're taking are at like 20 percent of what they were, or maybe they're at 200 percent because you're trying to compensate. But then there's this desperate energy driving it, right?

Or this needing to prove yourself or needing this next win because of all of the meaning that's hanging on it about, you know, whether you're worthy or not, or whether you're good enough, which leads to guess what? Your results totally suffering. And then that just confirms your suspicions that you [00:10:00] are.

Not as great as you thought you were. And so you beat yourself up and you try to be perfect and you think, think, think about the problem to come up with the right way because obviously this was the wrong way. Oh, and you beat yourself up for every dollar you ever invested in your business. And also every pie in the sky thought that told you maybe you could actually pull this whole business thing off.

And then you are just so exhausted and your coach tells you to go try again and you're like, fuck you, you didn't give me the magic potion. You're the one who's making this so hard. My friend, building a service business is not hard. It's one of the easiest, most natural things for women because it's just about finding a solution to someone's problem.

That's it. Think [00:11:00] about it. It's what we naturally do anyway. Day in, day out. Since little girls, we've been taught to attune to the needs of people around us, and then satisfy them. You can do this in your fucking sleep. You can do it backwards in heels. But you know what makes it fun? Feel hard, drama, mind drama.

That's it. All the meaning we make about every step of business growth. Hear me. When I give you this mindset takeaway, think of yourself less as the phenom and more as the scientist, this will change the game. Game for you and make your experience of growing your business. So, so, so, so, so much more pleasurable.

I'll teach you to connect all the dots, the dots that have always been there for you so that you can show up like you were born for exactly this.

Come join us and supercharge every other tool or tactic you'll ever learn from Facebook ads to manifestation Just go to the uncommon way comm slash schedule and set up a time to talk. I can't wait to be your coach a Scientist never expects to be right from the get go. They make a hypothesis They test it by running the experiment, they tweak something, they run it again.

There might be disappointment in that, right? They're human. But there's not tons of drama. It's just how science is done. So instead, there is neutrality. Instead of drama, neutrality. It [00:13:00] doesn't mean you suck. It means the experiment didn't work and needs to be tweaked. So when you go home at night, guess what?

You can decompress. You can feel totally capable, still and calm and curious, meaning you have more access to creative inspiration. So you're going to reach your desired result more quickly. You show up the next day, still at 100% And the day after that, now you have been in the online business world for a minute.

You know, you're not supposed to get so emotional about a failed sales call or a failed launch or how your employee doesn't like you or doesn't meet your expectations. So then Why are you still so caught up in it? Why are you so worked up and bouncing back and forth in your mind and feeling knocked out of the game for a few days?

And like, you've just been through battle and you need to recuperate. [00:14:00] Why are you making it all about you and suffering through all of these emotional highs and lows? It feels like you're on a roller coaster. The answer is simple. You haven't learned yet how to discharge emotions. All of these things are driven by big feelings.

Some of the dejection you feel has absolutely nothing to do with that potential client saying no or that team member quitting. I mean, honestly, they weren't the best fit anyway, but it has everything to do with the fact that you weren't invited to that party in grade school, or you learned at an early age that failure meant ridicule, or it meant the withholding of love.

Now, luckily, you don't have to unearth all those painful memories to discharge those emotions. Don't worry. I'll talk about how to do it in a second. But I [00:15:00] want you to know, when you're feeling that rush of emotion, your nervous system is getting triggered and there are actual chemicals flooding your bloodstream in these moments that you cannot control.

These things are not your fault. Sure, you can get good at putting on a brave face, all of us do, but that actually makes the problems worsen, not lessen. When you suppress it like that, and in that activated state, you have lots of access to the parts of your brain that control your skepticism and negativity, and very little access to the parts that control positivity and creative problem solving.

So you're stuck in this loop of poor performance. I'm just going to say it, with love, because I was the queen of poor performance for many years. Nobody would have thought that from the outside looking in, right? I am [00:16:00] a high achiever, but in retrospect, I can see it. And deep down, I felt it. I saw this amazing documentary.

I believe it was Netflix, of course. But it was about high performing athletes and their coaches. And specifically there was one on Serena Williams, which I will never forget. And she was having a meeting, she was looking for a new coach and she was having a meeting with a coach and they're interviewing the coach about that meeting.

And he said, yeah, I just told her that she was Operating way below her potential and really underperforming and then he kind of laughed and he said, of course she was, and this is where my memory gets a little fuzzy, but I think she was like the U. S. Champion at that point, or she'd been. Yeah. Already one, like, I don't know.

She was amazing. She was like Serena Williams. And she was so shocked [00:17:00] because no one says this to Serena Williams that she's underperforming, but he could watch her game and know that she was sloppy. He could see the point she was giving away. He could tell. tell that by, you know, looking at what she did well, he could tell how much more potential she had in her.

And this is true for you, I believe. It has to be true for you if you are still operating with a lot of the mental drama. Because that always slows you down. Now, like I said, you do not have to unearth all the painful memories, right? In order to discharge the emotions that are associated with them. A lot of times you won't even know why that emotion's coming up.

You can't even get to that memory. Now, if they do come up, that's fine. So if you're going to work with a coach or a therapist for this stuff, then definitely find someone you trust who's going to be able to hold [00:18:00] nonjudgmental space for whatever comes up. Like, I can't tell you how many times I've been having a conversation with someone and they're like, I mean, I know you're a business coach, but I feel like this might be relevant.

And I'm like, it's relevant. Like just, it's all relevant. It's all one big thing. It's so personal building a business. You don't need to go digging for them. It's okay if you don't recall that one specific memory. You just need to learn what to do with the triggered emotions when they arise. I tell my clients, stimulus, response, stimulus, response.

What that means is, you have a stimulus. You have something that happens, and it triggers these neurons to fire. That's all that's happening, right? This certain thing happens and these neurons of like shame or embarrassment [00:19:00] or needing to perform better, whatever it is, right? These are the ones that fire.

You have a specific way of thinking and reacting in response to a stimulus. Certain patterns you've built up over time. Until you learn to interrupt that pattern and associate a different response with that same stimulus, right, different neurons that fire with that same input, you're going to be repeating yourself like Groundhog Day.

The change when a business owner learns to do this is almost indescribable, but we're going to try. I have an upcoming podcast with a client about this and we'll go back and we'll link to it in the show notes once it comes out for anyone who's listening to this episode in the future, but it really is like night and day.

So your tactical tip for scaling your business and really doing so with confidence and clarity [00:20:00] This scientific formula. You ready? It's absolutely 100 percent proven method that will not steer you wrong. Come up with a hypothesis about what will work. Test it. Do the thing. Then evaluate your results.

Decide one thing that you're going to change so you are really controlling your variables. And then retest. Were the results closer or further from what you were hoping for? Right? What can you glean from this to make your next experiment even better? Use that information for your next experiment. So, if you're creating an ads funnel, this is the formula you use.

If you're learning to delegate to your team and release control, this is the formula you use. You iterate, iterate, iterate. Iterate. You come up with your hypothesis, you try it, you evaluate the results, and then you tweak something. [00:21:00] You release the idea of getting it all right immediately, and you focus on the long game.

You focus on the growth, on the learning, on the getting better. On the fun challenges to overcome as you figure out this really cool puzzle. That is what no former employee or formal pupil wants to hear ever. It like, it's like fingernails on a chalkboard, right? But it's what every successful entrepreneur knows.

Look, my most challenging clients are doctors or lawyers. When I see one come through on a discovery call intake form, I am like, Okay, roll up my sleeves, this is gonna be fun. Because they have been in school for so long, with such prescribed formulas about what to do, and how to get the A, with all the [00:22:00] textbooks, and the guidelines, and the very clear progression.

And when they get to entrepreneurship, they're like, no, no, where's my protocol to follow? We can't just wing it. But guess what? Madam Curie, she was winging it. This is what scientists and entrepreneurs do. They try stuff. Yes, of course, a coach can save you steps and help you avoid pitfalls. Oh, here's how you isolate a protein, by the way.

That will help speed things up for you. Or no, no, no, no. Don't combine those chemicals because in every experiment run before, there's been an explosion. So you don't want to do that thing. But ultimately, what will work best for you and work best for your clients? What is your best leadership style and the best composition of your team?

Where do you create the highest [00:23:00] leverage in the way that you love best? That is your uncommon way. Nobody can decide that for you or tell you what it is. They can only reflect back to you, give you insights, show you what they're seeing, remind you what they know to be true about you and what you have told them in the past.

But you need to experience it in your body to know for sure and you need to see it in your results and how that makes you feel and where you're led to go next and what your intuition tells you. I just did a podcast on intuition and using it more in your business. So I'm going to link to that in the show notes.

Because the truth, truth, truth, truth is that you don't really want the magic pill. The cookie cutter formula, even if it existed, yes, when you're feeling [00:24:00] down and like, oh, frustrated, and you just can't get the solution to the problem, like, you're like, give me the magic pill. But, You know, deep down, the truth is you want to find your thing, your well honed art, not something that's just a cookie cutter template or box that you're fitting yourself into.

And this is the path that you've chosen. Entrepreneurship, it's the best thing ever created. And again, because of our mind drama feels really hard for so many of us. For all of us, so let's talk energetics, the fastest, most easeful way to create the ideal meeting point between you and your clients, or you and your trusted team who are here to bring your vision to the world, or you and your best method for creating your greatest intellectual property, it's [00:25:00] alignment.

It's the difference between the feeling you get when you're just throwing spaghetti at the wall, hoping something sticks, and when you get an inspired hit and you feel in flow. Imagine someone who's born to be a baseball player, but everyone's forcing that person to play soccer. Probably do pretty well because they're naturally athletic.

Oh my God. I actually just realized that I am talking about my son Dylan right now because they don't have baseball here for him. But anyway, it won't be the same as if he were in the sport he's naturally inclined to play. The same is true in business. So often the equivalent of soccer is the way others are doing it or the way you think it should be done or when you're ignoring your secret sauce and what you're really here to do.

But when you move into alignment. You still have your, you have to work at your sport. You still honing the [00:26:00] skills, but it's all so much easier. Likewise, let's say you're making moves in order to reach your goal, like a revenue goal or a move so that you can reduce the number of hours you work. But if energetically, you're actually resisting that, let's say you kind of, Don't want to earn that much money because you're a little freaked out by what that will mean, right?

Or you're a little freaked out by stepping back from the business in that way. Then that push pull energetic It's going to be showing up in your results, delaying your progress to the goal and making that goal seem unattainable. That's why for the fastest fruition of your dreams and desires, you need to make sure the goals are aligned with what you truly want, what you're truly ready for.

If there's energetic interference, it's not the end of the world. The universe will lead you to opportunities. To work out all [00:27:00] the kinks, don't worry, but it is like being in a rowboat with an anchor down, rather than in the sailboat with full wind in your sails. So you might need to shift your energy around certain things, or you might need to change your goals to match where you are.

But as with everything, alignment is the assignment, and if you to Deeply desire to feel the wind in your sails. If you're looking for the kind of coach that Serena Williams had, who can take you from what seemed like great performance to what was truly legendary performance, then let's talk. And if you're not sure about the legendary thing, cause you are honestly feeling a bit fried at the moment.

And what you really want is just to learn to create results without all the exhaustion, then we also need to talk. Sign up through the link in the show notes or go to theuncommonway. [00:28:00] com forward slash schedule right now. Because delay just results in less than optimal results, lost time, And honestly, unnecessary suffering, if I were to offer any of my clients, their money back in return for them going back to their stressed out, unhappy, less confident cells.

They would laugh at me. They're not just building businesses and feeling lighter and better, but at the same time, they are so much tougher and much more ready to take on the big things. But they're also, Better moms and better partners, and they treat their body better and everything changes when you change yourself.

So book that call right now so we can get down to business. Okay. In this episode, [00:29:00] you got the very specific formula, hypothesize, test, iterate that works for all entrepreneurs, regardless of where you are in business. You discovered that the one single thing that's keeping your business from feeling as easy and natural as breathing Is the mind component, the mental drama, and you unlocked the secret really to achieving results faster by creating alignment energetically with your goals.

Oh, I love this topic so much. I hope you enjoyed this too. And I've got a great episode for you next week. That is kind of a continuation of this. It will be the perfect compliment. So make sure you tune in. I'll talk to you then.

Thanks for joining us here at the uncommon way. If you want more tips and resources for [00:30:00] developing clarity in your business in life, including the clarity first strategy for growing and scaling your business, visit the uncommon way. com. See you next time.
